Hello Wizard Friends!
We have been dealing with a legal issue with Warner Brothers regarding this event.
The goal of this event was to unite Harry Potter fans with a day of festivities, laughter and most of all, a sense of coming together over the holidays.
So it is with a heavy heart that we announce that Warner Bros. did not contact us on their own terms but that an anonymous contact was made flagging our event. This is the most hurtful part that we cannot explain.
We were told by the legal team of Warner Brothers that they have been shutting down events recently but they are willing to help us host this events without infringing on their copyright laws.
We accept full responsibility for not investigating the legal ramifications of hosting the event and hope you will give us a chance to make it up to you.
We have been given strict guidelines by Warner Brothers to continue hosting these type of events. Unfortunately, they do not issue licenses for fan events but there are certain rules that we must abide to continue, including changing the name of our company, our website, emails, and materials with the name Yule Ball or any characters in the Harry Potter films.
We are told that we can host the Wizards Ball on January 19th. Our special guest will be Stanislav Ianevski who played Viktor Krum- Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire. We will also try to have Afshan Azad attend on that date as well.
We’ve put so much work into hosting this event and we are extremely disappointed at the outcome.
We will keep the emails active to answer your questions but we we be removing the website and forming a different company where will continue hosting the event with a different title.
We will post a link to our new company name and website in the next few days before removing this Facebook page.

You may keep your tickets for the event on January 19th but we are issuing full refunds to all our ticketholders upon request. You can contact us at tickets@mugglesandmagic. ca to receive your full refunds.
